Hi everybody,
Freifunk Darmstadt has fixed some issues with the router firmware and is going to order a big batch of routers on Wednesday.
Everything seems to be working and we want to expand the network. Even if you live a bit outside Darmstadt, it's alright to join Freifunk Darmstadt - we have nodes in places as far as Langen and Pfungstadt.
These are the two TP-LINK models we are going to order:
- 2.4GHz: WR842ND (max. 28€)
- 5GHz: WDR4300 (max. 52€)
NanoStations and similar devices still have to be tested, so we won't order any for now.
If we order many routers, the prices will be lower (but we cannot estimate how much). Those are the "worst-case" prices.
Please email me until Wednesday noon if you are interested.
Cheers, Ana/spiky

Hello everyone,
I am happy to announce that the Freifunk project in Darmstadt is evolving well, but now we need to build the actual network all over the city (and surroundings). Therefore we need your help, and your wireless router.
If you already have a router you want to use for Freifunk, and it's not one of the models we mention below, we cannot ensure that it will work with the Gluon firmware (https://github.com/freifunk-gluon). Right now we do not have the availability to assist you with non-supported hardware, so you are on your own there.
We are going to order several TP-LINK routers soon, but only among the 3 following models: 2.4GHz: WR842ND (~28€) 5GHz: WDR3600 (~50€), WDR4300 (~ 52€)
If you want we can order one (or more) for you as well, just let me know until the 15th of May. Also, the more we order, the cheaper the shipping costs. The prices above include the shipping of 4 devices, so if you order one it will be cheaper.
Come to our meetings if you have questions or want to join the organization team. Meeting schedules can be found @ http://freifunk-darmstadt.de/ We're also on IRC: #ffda @ hackint.
Cheers, Ana (spiky) & co.

Um genau zu sein supporten wir (bzw. Gluon) auch folgende, weitere Router-/AP-Modelle:
Ubiquiti Networks
- Bullet M
- NanoStation M
- Unifi AP
- Unifi Outdoor AP
TP-Link:
- WR1043N
hexa-
P.S: Nächstes Treffen ist nächste Woche Mittwoch, 14. Mai, 19:30 Uhr in der Höhle.
